Holiday Gift Guide for 2022

It’s December and for many buying the perfect gift can be a daunting experience that can leave you pulling your hair out. Now, I’m someone who enjoys shopping for as I’ve thankfully developed an eye for getting the right gift. So, this year I wanted to share some advice and ideas to anyone struggling on what to get the guy’s in your life.

But before we get into the suggestions, I want start by asking a question that often isn’t given serious thought. Who are you really shopping for? Most of the time people get swept up in the idea of the holidays and buying a grand or extravagant gift without really asking some key question:

 - What is his stye?

- Is he more of a Tech guy?

- Would he seriously use this?

- Is what I picked a realistic choice?

These are some of the basic questions that should be asked before making any purchase. Shopping for men can be complicated and while there are a few tried and true options (like a gift card, a pair of some sneakers or the latest gadget) let’s think outside the box and try aim for something different.

Now, let me be very clear. I’m not about to suggest some overpriced or over hyped ‘ish you’ve seen on Ellen, Oprah or even that…. interesting site Goop. Everything on my list is practical, stylish, and affordable. While we’re all familiar with the classic gift options (who wouldn't love a brand-new laptop, or sweater), I was mindful to pick things that make the most sense in your everyday life.

Beats Fit Pro Wireless Earbuds

I’m not about to ramble off all the specs these earbuds have I just think it’s a great idea doe anyone to have. They have amazing sound quality, they pair great with an iPhone (I don’t know nothing about that Android life, sorry!) and their cheaper than airpods!

Analogue Pocket

Now, I’m not a gamer but this sparked my interest, The Analogue Pocket is a hand-held system (think Game Boy or PSP) that can be paired with over 2,780 Game Boy, Game Gear, Neo Geo Pocket, and even Atari cartridges and cartridge adaptors.

Monogrammed Laptop Bag

Y’all know I love a good bag, regardless if it’s for everyday use, for work or just your laptop every guy can benefit from having one. So why not set it further apart and get in monogrammed. Brands like Leatherology, Coach and Michael Kors all off the option to monogram a purchase and it’s a great personal touch to an already perfect gift.

Watch Box

Easily the perfect gift for a watch connoisseur. A soft leather watch box is the smartest investment to protect and preserve the value to a watch collection a needed storage unit. If your feeling real fancy purchase on that can also wind the watches when they aren’t being worn. This keeps the interior mechanics running smoothly.

Cocktail Mixing Kit

This is a unique idea for sure, but I can guarantee it’ll be a fun one. A cocktail gift set based around his favourite libations is a great way to play up his bartending skill or allow him to flex his knowledge of the various spirts. Every set features a mix of ingredients, tools, glassware and recipes to mix up his favourite drinks at home. I personally recommend a dual set that has non-alcoholic recipes so everyone can part take.

Scented Gift Sets

So, I’m someone that’s big on scents. I like for everything to smell good, however, most men are just now applying this thought process to their living spaces. Now, I could go through my arsenal of room sprays, mist, diffusers, incents and aromatherapy candles that keep me in the best of spirits and apartment smelling great. But I think a great gift idea is a holiday gift box that has a bit of everything. It’s also a great way for him to test out what he likes and doesn’t and curate what he might want to continue using going forward.   

Massage Gun

If your guy is a gym rat or an adventure seeker a massage gun is the perfect gift to help him reset. The portability of these muscle massagers has increased with the smaller designs, and now is the time to take advantage and get one of these for him. With a high-quality lithium rechargeable battery, a massage gun is perfect carry on from the basketball courts to the slopes or the locker room he will be able to work out the kinks and keep going.

Bluetooth Speaker

If your husband, boyfriend, brother, father, or son loves music, then a portable speaker is a must have.  Many packs some punch, with crisp, balanced sound and unmatched bass that will easily pair well with any Bluetooth device. If your best guy does not have one of these yet (or something like it), this is the perfect Christmas gift for him.  It clearly fits into that category of something he would want but did not want to spend the money on.
