5 Brands Worth Investing in for 2024

With a new year upon us I’m making the conscious effort to explore new brands and designers. It’s important to look beyond your staples and go-to’s for items that provide a gentle refresh and creativity to your closet without completely changing up your entire style. I also want to ensure that my closet has a fair split between, luxury, affordable and brands of colour are represented.

So today I wanted to discuss a couple brands that I think would be great investments for your closet. Each brand on this list is entirely black owned. The In the last four years the rise of black-owned businesses, brands, and stores have made a lasting imprint on the future of menswear with impressive concepts in streetwear, formal designs, work wear and luxury pieces.

Season after season, BIPOC brands have claimed more and more opportunities in fashion spaces as well as increasing public support and interest which I absolutely love to see! From expertly tailored suits, high-end pieces and cultural wears to everyday basics, edgy street, and active wear these brands are making their marks in menswear.

So, today I’ve complied a list of 5 brands that I’ve had my eye on for a while and wanted to help introduce them to the masses. These brands are making great strides in fashion and offer products you’ll want to include when you update your wardrobe.

Daily Paper Clothing

African inspired streetwear, need I say more? Daily Paper is an Amsterdam brand founded by 3 childhood friends Hussein Suleiman, Jefferson Osei and Abderrahmane Trabsin. Daily Paper takes a unique spin on everyday street wear and incorporate elements from the African culture. One thing I really like about this brand is that they only do two collections per year which contributes to the integrity of the designs.

Wales Bonner

It’s fair to say that of all the brands on my list Wales Bonner is the only label with a distinct design approach. With an Adidas collaboration and a collection with the Jamaican national soccer team under its belt the Wales Bonner is quickly becoming the brand to watch. The clothes look great, there’s an effortlessness to the designs and although it’s probably the most expensive brand on this list the pieces are well worth it.

The Brooklyn Circus

Every time I look at this brand I think I always marvel at the various inspirations, from the Harlem Renaissance to New York Dandy all of their pieces are so well constructed and perfectly styled it’s the perfect brand for a closet and style refresh. Inspired by history books and the beauty of the New York landscape it’s a timeless brand any guy would love to support.

DAEM

Now y’all know I love a good watch, and DAEM is a brand I will be adding to my collection in 2024. Designed in Brooklyn and crafted in Switzerland. With a minimal design, neutral and durable bands it’s a watch every guy can appreciate.

Good Man Brand

I love this brand! Russell Wilson has done an amazing job at making what is quickly become every guys go to for quality staples that compliment every body type. The amount of guys I’ve seen rocking the Edge Leather Sneakers is impressive. I’ve also noticed the type of men Good Man Brand attracts, professionals that understand the concept of quiet luxury. Over the last couple of years GMB has become the basics go to for any guy rebuilding his closet, made from sustainable sourced materials the construction complements all type. I promise it’s a style investment you’ll be so proud to make.

Hopefully some of these brands will make their way into your closets for the next fashion season.  I’d love to hear your thoughts on my picks, do you disagree with any of my choices? Are there any other brands that I’ve missed or should check out? As always let’s keep the conversation going in the comments section.
